The Aviation, Land and Maritime Transport (ALMT) Program is responsible for the Bureau's business relationships with service delivery partners, government stakeholders, and both domestic and international customers operating in the aviation, land and maritime transport sectors. In particular, the Aviation, Land and Maritime Transport Program is the sole provider of aviation meteorological services to the aviation industry within the Australian Flight Information Regions. Australian Civil Aviation Safety Regulations (CASRs) require pilots to plan flights using Bureau products. The Bureau's aviation services also contribute to meeting Australia's obligations under the Convention on International Civil Aviation. The Aerodrome Engagement team is responsible for increasing proactive engagement with the aerodrome operators and managing the relationship with Airservices Australia. In addition to managing this external engagement, the team works closely with the Aviation Customer Engagement team and observation delivery teams across the Bureau to deliver outstanding value to the Australian aviation industry. We are seeking an experienced and motivated senior customer engagement specialist who understands the aviation sector and can build deep and solid relationships with customers at all levels within the sector. The successful applicant will possess a high degree of initiative and leadership capabilities and have excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills. They will have experience working across teams, in technical domains and demonstrated project management skills. They will be highly skilled at influencing, experienced at working at senior levels of organisations and will contribute to the planning of aviation meteorological services. The key duties of the position include The responsibilities of the role include but are not limited to: 1. Lead a small team responsible for the Bureau's engagement with Airservices Australia, aerodrome operators and associations. Deepen and broaden customer and stakeholder relationships with the aerodrome sector and rapidly respond to customer opportunities to deliver outstanding value to customers. Lead and develop the staff and culture of the team to foster a working environment that is safe, inclusive and diverse. 2. Develop, in alignment with existing frameworks, a structured approach to understanding, supporting, and improving outcomes supporting the aerodrome sector, ensuring that customer needs are effectively met and addressed. 3. Develop national and global policies related to the provision of aviation meteorological services within forums such as the International Civil Aviation Organization. 4. Provide direction to multi-disciplinary, cross-functional teams and support internal business areas in their interactions with aerodromes. 5. Develop business proposals and customer agreements for new customer product and service offerings. 6. Manage the implementation of strategies for the quality management system to achieve and maintain the ongoing certification of compliance with the ISO 9001 standard, ensuring the quality, effectiveness and continuous improvement of processes and services. 7. Actively work across the Bureau, to ensure a workplace that is safe and diverse, where people grow and are empowered to excel, and where customers come first, trust the Bureau and consider that we are a pleasure to work with. 8. Support Bureau Work Health and Safety (WHS) initiatives, ensuring compliance with Bureau WHS procedures and policies. Demonstrate commitment to APS Values, Employment Principles and Code of Conduct.
