Following the retirement of a long-standing ophthalmologist based in Albany, a regional town in Western Australia, a replacement consultant is sought for a private practice - Aspect Vision - will be continuing the care in the same clinic and facilities, with public outreach across the region. A dedicated team, including prior staff are established and visiting consultant sub-specialists will support as well as remote, on demand consultant supervision available.
Job Description
We are seeking a qualified Comprehensive Ophthalmologist to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for;
* Providing high-quality Ophthalmology care
* Diagnosing and treating eye conditions and injuries
* Managing chronic eye conditions
* Delivering ophthalmic surgical services in Albany and other regional and remote settings including Esperance and Katanning in the Goldfields/Wheatbelt.
* Collaborating with a multi-disciplinary team.
Qualifications and Skills:
To be successful, candidates must possess:
* Fellowship with the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Ophthalmology or equivalent
* Registration or eligibility for registration with the Medical Board of Australia
* Registration or eligibility for registration as a Medical Practitioner with AHPRA
* Relevant training and experience in general Ophthalmology
* A commitment to safe, quality, patient care in a multi-disciplinary environment
In addition, the ideal candidate will demonstrate:
* Excellent communication skills with patients, families, peers, and support staff
* Competence in cataract surgery using phaco-emulsification
* Experience performing office-based laser procedures, intravitreal injections and minor lid procedures.
Remuneration package will be in line with West Australian Public Sector award for medical practitioners and is negotiable based on the skills and experience of the candidate
