Provide administrative and technical support for health data systems, including collecting, maintaining and reporting on statistical databases to support decision‐making and meet reporting obligations.
The Team
The Health Information Team plays a central role in managing the lifecycle of health data across Tasmania's public health system. From data collection and storage to analysis and reporting, the team ensures accurate, timely and high‐quality information supports both the health of Tasmanians and the performance of health services.
Health data is a critical enabler of system‐wide planning, funding and reform. The work of the Health Information Team underpins key departmental functions, including service agreement monitoring, national reporting obligations and strategic decision‐making.
The Role
The Database Support Administrator works within the Health Information Team to provide support services regarding information contained on databases managed by the unit. The role supports the Department of Health in fulfilling its reporting obligations to external bodies, senior management and operational areas, facilitating informed decisions based on sound and robust data collected.
You will need
* Knowledge of, and experience in, the use of computerised information systems/databases, including the development and production of statistical reports, together with proven skills and experience in using Word and Excel and the ability to learn other computer software packages.
* Demonstrated coordination and organisational skills whilst undertaking and handling multiple tasks on a day‐to‐day basis, together with the ability to exercise initiative, judgement and discretion.
* Well‐developed interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to negotiate and liaise with a wide range of internal and external clients and stakeholders.
