Zed3 Medical Group is an interdisciplinary mental health organisation physically located in Canberra (and nationally via telehealth) providing services across Psychiatry, Psychology and Paediatrics. Our clinical work is predominantly trauma-focused, serving a variety of patients across the Australian Defence Force, veteran and civilian communities, other government agencies and first responders.
Our ReviveMed program uses an established treatment pathway for clients with Treatment Resistant Depression (often with comorbidities) through an in-hospital ketamine infusion therapy.
We work as part of an inter-disciplinary team including Psychiatrists, Psychologists, Anaesthetists and Registered Nurses. The treatment program has been well established in hospitals in Canberra, Adelaide and Wagga.
We are looking for a contracted Psychiatrist to join our team to provide support by conducting initial assessments, review patients and providing general clinical guidance and advice to our multidisciplinary team. Specifically, the position involves program psychiatric care to patients seeking to enter, currently on or completing program, and may also entail collaboration with each patient’s usual treating psychiatrist.
This is an opportunity for interested Psychiatrists to work in an effective interdisciplinary clinical model, delivering a new health technology with high rates of clinical success, and for a unique priority population in Australia.
There is also an opportunity to contribute to the evidence base for ketamine infusion therapy in Australia through research. ReviveMed is currently conducting two DDVA HREC approved research projects specifically relating to ketamine therapy for Australian Veterans; one is retrospective, and the other is a longitudinal study.
Initial training and ongoing support will be provided by the ReviveMed senior leadership team, including the ReviveMed Psychiatrist who is also a member of the RANZCP MVESPHN Committee.
This is a role for a psychiatrist who is interested in next step therapies and/or ketamine specifically; has a passion for effective team-based work; and has strong leadership skills.
Skills needed include experience with telehealth assessment, an interest in infusion therapy, an eagerness to understand the experiences of our Veteran community and has excellent interpersonal skills who can foster a strong therapeutic alliance.
Minimum one day per week required but open to additional days if available. We are open to candidates across Australia as the work will take place via telehealth.
Flexible and highly attractive remuneration options available, tailored to suit preferred terms of engagement by both parties.
