Overview / Responsibilities:
Wood is recruiting for a Principal Process Designer to join our team in Perth, Western Australia as part of its Operations APAC West business.
Wood delivers brownfields engineering, procurement, construction, optimisation and technical services to the oil and gas sector and enjoys long-term partnerships with some of the region's most prominent producers, actively supporting operations in Western Australia, the Northern Territory and Kazakhstan.
As part of this role, duties will include:
- Deliver best practice process designs in accordance with project, time, budget and technical requirements
- Drafting of process flow diagrams (PFDs)
- Drafting of piping and instrumentation diagrams (P&IDs)
- Ensure designs are produced in accordance with project, discipline, statutory regulations, good practice and procedural requirements and ensure completion within required resourcing hours and budget
- Use clear and timely communication regarding design change issues
- Always work in accordance with method statements and risk assessments as provided
Skills / Qualifications:
**You must be an Australian citizen or currently hold Permanent Residency (PR) and able to work lawfully in Australia without company sponsorship.**
Suitably qualified in Processl Design Engineering from a recognised institution, ideally you will have a minimum of 8+ years of proven experience in the Oil &Gas Brownfields Engineering / EPCM sector in Australia.
You will also have experience in:
- Experience with intelligent P&ID software required
- Experience with Bentley OpenPlant PID software highly regarded
- Understanding of discipline technology and other discipline requirements
- Ability to problem-solve effectively
- Effective communication skills
- Attention to detail
- Strong analytical, literacy and numerical skills
- Good organisational and time management skills
- Ability to identify risks and work safely
