Due to an internal promotion, we have an exciting opportunity for a Quality Specialist to join our multi-national Manufacturing Site for the Philadelphia cream cheese based in Suttontown.
As theQuality Specialist – Sanitation, you are responsible for supporting the implementation, verification, and continuous improvement of the site's sanitation, hygiene and pest control programs at the Site.
You play a pivotal role ensuring the site maintains a hygienic manufacturing environment that meets internal standards, regulatory requirements, and customer expectations for food safety and quality.
The position also leads hygienic design assessments and sanitation audits, providing feedback to both Quality and Operations to drive improvements in cleanliness and equipment maintainability.
Working closely with Manufacturing, Engineering, and the broader Quality team to promote shared responsibility for hygiene and sanitation standards, you support the site's goals in deliveringSafe, Superior, and Sustainableoutcomes by reducing contamination risks, minimising product and packaging waste, and driving more efficient and effective cleaning practices.
How you will contribute (but not limited to)
Sanitation Program Management – validating and verifying cleaning effectiveness through allergen testing, CIP (Clean-in-Place) evaluations, pre- and post-operational inspections, and periodic cleaning programs.
Pest control management, including program compliance, contractor oversight, and documentation of findings and corrective actions.
Packaging Updates Owner – managing packaging artwork updates to specification standards, supporting team capability and operational resilience by promoting cross-training across Quality Support, Chemistry and Microbiology roles.
Housekeeping and Quality Policy internal audits, while also supporting external audit readiness by ensuring that all sanitation documentation, records and validation activities are current and compliant.
Back-up responsibilities – supporting micro-swab collection when needed and chemistry equipment calibrations as required.
New Product Development – providing quality support for NPD trials and updates.
What you will bring
A desire to drive your future and accelerate your career and the following experience and knowledge:
Minimum 5+ years' experience in a food/dairy manufacturing environment with relevant experience in Quality Assurance/Operations.
Direct experience managing sanitation and cleaning verification programs.
Proven involvement in allergen control, pest management and sanitation audits.
Strong knowledge of cleaning validation and verification procedures (e.g. CIP, allergen control).
Understanding of hygienic design principles for food manufacturing equipment and infrastructure.
Familiarity with pest control principles, documentation and contractor oversight.
Awareness of food safety legislation, allergen management and sanitation risk controls.
Competency in conducting verifications, audits and quality checks.
Ability to deliver training and coach others on quality processes.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook).
SAP ION experience desirable.
HACCP certification (or willingness to obtain).
Training in allergen and/or CIP validation (desirable).
