Freelance Peer Reviewer - Media Relations
We are currently seeking researchers, retired researchers, and former researchers to perform peer reviews for academic journals and publishers. Candidates should be able to disclose their full name and affiliation with the respective publishers.
Qualifications
* Doctorate (PhD/MD) or equivalent advanced degree in the relevant subject area.
* At least two publications in the last two years within your field.
* Thorough understanding of research methodologies and ethical principles in the discipline.
* Excellent analytical and critical‐thinking skills.
* Strong written communication skills, capable of providing clear, concise, and constructive feedback.
* Ability to meet deadlines and manage time effectively.
* Commitment to maintaining confidentiality and objectivity.
* Prior experience as a peer reviewer for academic journals is highly desirable.
* Familiarity with online manuscript submission and review systems.
Responsibilities
* Assess novelty of manuscripts and determine whether the work adds new knowledge to the field.
* Evaluate study design, methodology, and clarity of description to ensure reproducibility.
* Review literature cited and ascertain its relevance and currency.
* Analyze results and conclusions for clarity, validity, and significance.
* Provide constructive feedback, suggesting improvements and identifying flaws, omissions, or ethical concerns.
* Recommend publication outcome (accept, revise, or reject) based on the overall evaluation.
