About the role
We are seeking a Strategic Commercial Manager to join the team. The role is responsible for developing and implementing a range of activities to support the commercial function across VIDA Rail. A key focus of the role will be to identify opportunities to ensure consistent and streamlined commercial activities across VIDA Rail.
In the role you will:
Provide commercial and contractual advice to the VIDA Rail project teams on procurement strategies, commercial frameworks, approvals requirements and controls.Assess and distil large amounts of data into brief, cohesive reports.Use data to develop and implement consistent commercial and contract management processes and procedures across VIDA Rail construction projects.Assist with driving a consistent and streamlined approach for all commercial management and contract administration of VIDA Rail construction agreements.Oversee the preparation, implementation and maintenance of procurement and contract administration documentation, systems and plans for a program of works during all phases of projects.Coordinate the collection of data and other contract information in responding to regular and ad hoc reporting requests.Lead the implementation of strategic commercial initiatives across VIDA Rail.
This is a 3-year fixed term position, paying a salary between $138,631 - $185,518 plus superannuation with hybrid working arrangement (a mix of office and home/remote based working).

Let’s get technical – what skills do we expect you to have?Demonstrated experience (7+ years’) in managing, administering complex infrastructure or construction projects.Demonstrated understanding and extensive experience in managing commercial and contractual issues during all stages of the project life cycle.Demonstrated ability to develop complex procurement documentation and written briefs to senior executives, government or boards.Experience in alliance contracting is preferredA degree in law, commerce, economics, business, management, accounting, or a related field is preferred.
