Role Summary

We are seeking an
Installation Technician (Onshore Wind)
to support the safe, efficient installation and commissioning readiness of onshore wind turbines across the
APAC region
. You will work as part of a site-based installation team, supporting mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic installation activities in line with OEM procedures, quality standards, and local HSE requirements.

Key Responsibilities

* Perform
turbine installation activities
including tower erection support, nacelle set, hub fitment, blade installation, and internal component installation (as per scope/trade).
* Complete
mechanical assembly tasks
: torque/tensioning, alignment, component fit-up, lubrication, and bolting plans.
* Support
electrical installation tasks
: cable pulling/termination support, grounding/earthing, sensor installation, junction box work, basic testing (per competency).
* Carry out
hydraulic works
such as hose installation, filling/bleeding procedures, and leak checks (where applicable).
* Use and maintain tooling including
torque tools, tensioners, lifts/hoists, and calibrated instruments
; ensure calibration compliance.
* Follow
OEM work instructions
, method statements, and site permits (LOTO, working at height, lifting operations, confined space as required).
* Complete
quality documentation
: check sheets, punch lists, redlines, and installation records; support snag/punch close-out.
* Assist with
pre-commissioning checks
and handover readiness; support commissioning teams as required.
* Participate in
daily toolbox talks
, risk assessments (JSA/JHA), and maintain high safety standards at all times.
* Support site logistics: parts handling, material checks, kit preparation, and housekeeping (5S).
* Travel between projects across APAC and support rotation-based schedules as required.

Required Skills & Experience

* Proven experience as a
wind turbine installation technician
or similar heavy industrial installation role (wind, power, O&G, mining, heavy mechanical/electrical works).
* Strong understanding of
working at height
, lifting operations, and construction site safety practices.
* Ability to interpret
technical drawings, installation manuals, and work instructions
.
* Competence with
mechanical installation tools
(torque/tensioning, alignment) and/or
electrical installation fundamentals
.
* Comfortable working outdoors in remote environments and in varying weather conditions.
* Good reporting and documentation skills (basic English required; additional languages a plus depending on country).

Certifications (Typical / Preferred – Country Dependent)

* Working at Height / Rescue
certification
* LOTO / Electrical Safety Awareness
* Rigging & Slinging
(as required)
* First Aid/CPR
* Trade qualification preferred (Mechanical/Electrical) or equivalent practical experience
* Valid driver's license; passports/visas suitable for APAC travel (where applicable)

Work Conditions

* Site-based role across APAC (country and rotation varies by project)
* Working at height, confined space exposure, manual handling, and outdoor work expected
* Tools/PPE provided in line with site and OEM standards
