About the role
We are seeking an enthusiastic and customer-focused Retail Sales Associate to join our dynamic Outdoor and Garden team at A W Smith and Sons Pty Ltd in Leongatha, Victoria. As a full-time retail professional, you will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service and contributing to the overall success of our store.
What you'll be doing
* Delivering outstanding customer service and building strong relationships with our valued clientele
* Responsible for the purchasing of plants and nursery items
* Procurement experience required for effective purchasing and supplier management of plants and nursery items
* Assisting customers in finding the products they need and providing knowledgeable recommendations
* Maintaining the store's visual appearance and ensuring all merchandise is properly displayed and stocked
* Processing sales transactions accurately and efficiently
* Actively contributing to the store's sales and growth objectives
* Participating in regular stock-takes and inventory management
* Adhering to all company policies and procedures
What we're looking for
* Previous experience in a customer service or retail sales role, preferably in the Nursery Trade industry
* Experience in Nursery and Horticulture and retail or customer service is required for this position
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage with customers and provide exceptional service
* A keen eye for detail and the ability to maintain a well-organised and visually appealing store environment
* Excellent numerical skills and the ability to handle cash and process transactions accurately
* A positive, enthusiastic and adaptable attitude, with a passion for providing an outstanding customer experience
* Availability to work a flexible schedule, including rostered weekends, to meet the needs of our customers
