Our focus is premium food, professional and friendly service.As our menu and operations continue to grow, we are seeking a skilled and passionate Chef to join our dedicated team and contribute to our ongoing success.Key ResponsibilitiesPrepare, cook, and present a wide range of dishes, including:Ensure all dishes are prepared according to standard recipes, portion sizes, and hotel presentation standards.Cook and monitor multiple orders simultaneously during busy service periods.Assist in developing and updating the menu, including seasonal changes.Create new dishes and improve existing items based on guest feedback and food trends.Contribute to cocktail menu displays with creative canapés and catering-style food production.Maintain high standards of food hygiene, cleanliness, and sanitation in accordance with HACCP and hotel policies.Conduct daily quality checks on ingredients, ensuring freshness and compliance with food safety standards.Monitor cooking times, temperatures, and storage conditions of perishable items.Coordinate with other chefs and kitchen staff to organise smooth kitchen operations.Supervise the preparation and cooking processes to ensure consistent quality during peak service.Assist in organising function events, cocktail parties, and banquets.Monitor stock levels and report shortages to the Head Chef.Assist in ordering ingredients, ensuring cost control and minimising wastage.Ensure all kitchen equipment (ovens, mixers, pasta machines, pizza ovens) are used safely and correctly.Report any equipment issues to the kitchen supervisor for repair or maintenance.Maintain cleanliness of workstations in line with hotel kitchen protocols.QualificationsMinimum 3-4 years of professional kitchen experience required.Previous sous chef or supervisory kitchen experience required.Essential experience in Modern Australian cuisine.Australian work rights required.
