Hiring! Our client, Drouin Tyre & Battery Service, is seeking an experienced Motor Mechanic to join their team. Based in the heart of Drouin, this trusted local business delivers a full range of automotive services, including tyre and battery replacements, vehicle servicing, and mechanical repairs. * Position: Motor Mechanic
* Salary: $77,000 plus Superannuation
* Job Type: Permanent, Full Time, must be available to work at least 38 hours per week.
Primary Responsibilities:
* Diagnose faults and mechanical issues using specialized tools and equipment, ensuring accurate identification and resolution of any problems.
* Conduct regular vehicle maintenance and carry out complex repairs, including engine, transmission, brakes, and suspension systems, ensuring vehicle safety and reliability.
* Manage and maintain service logbooks for customers' vehicles, ensuring the vehicle's warranty is maintained, and customers are well-informed about their vehicle's service history.
* Assist in the maintenance, replacement, and repair of tyres and batteries, crucial aspects of vehicle performance and safety.
* Specialize in brake and suspension services, including inspections, repairs, and replacements, ensuring optimal vehicle handling and safety.
* Regularly interact with customers, explaining necessary services, providing cost estimates, and resolving any queries to ensure customer satisfaction.
* Comply with safety regulations and standards, including conducting thorough 5 Point Safety Checks and ensuring safe work practices within the workshop.
* Mentor and guide junior motor mechanics in the team, sharing expertise and experience to maintain high service standards across the workshop.
* Stay abreast of the latest developments and trends in the automotive repair industry and implement new techniques and practices as appropriate to improve service quality and efficiency.
Key Skills and Attributes:
* Cert III or higher certification in the relevant field.
* At least one year of post-qualification experience as a Motor Mechanic.
* Excellent technical knowledge of vehicle systems.
* A professional attitude in the workshop at all times.
* Ability to maneuver in tight spaces and physically able to lift and move heavy parts.
* Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
* An eye for detail to diagnose and fix complex issues.
