ABOUT THE ROLE
KAEFER Integrated Services Pty Ltd is seeking a highly skilled MECHANICAL ESTIMATOR to join our office in Perth. As a Mechanical Estimator, you will play a crucial role in the construction industry, responsible for accurately estimating the costs associated with mechanical systems and components for various projects.
What you'll be doing
* Interpret and analyse technical drawings, specifications, and project requirements to develop comprehensive cost estimates
* Conduct thorough material take-offs and labour calculations to ensure accurate budgeting
* Collaborate with project managers, site supervisors, and subcontractors to obtain relevant information and maintain cost control
* Prepare detailed cost reports, proposals, and tender submissions to support the bidding process
* Stay up-to-date with industry trends, regulations, and new technologies to optimise cost-effective solutions
* Provide support and guidance to project teams throughout the construction process
What we're looking for
* Substantial experience (8+ years) as a Mechanical Estimator or in a similar role within the construction industry
* Strong understanding of mechanical systems, components, and construction methods
* Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical drawings, specifications, and contract documents
* Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills to identify and mitigate potential cost risks
* Effective communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams
* Familiarity with construction estimating software and tools (e.g. Buildsoft, Timberline)
* Tertiary qualification in Mechanical Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field
