Urban List is looking for a sharp, connected editor to lead our presence in Sydney, championing your city and the places and faces making culture tick.
As Sydney Editor, you'll shape our content strategy in one of our most competitive and opportunity-rich markets. From local legends and rising stars to must‐visit spots and cultural deep dives, you'll create and commission stories that resonate, inspire action, and deepen our connection with Sydney culture seekers.
You'll work across web, social, video and email to grow our audience, strengthen our brand, and help show new audiences what they've been missing. You'll also play a key role in building and nurturing a network of creators and collaborators who live and breathe the city like you do.

The Gig
* Champion Sydney's stories, uncovering the people and places truly making culture tick
* Write, shoot, commission and shape content across web, email, social and video — always with audience and impact in mind
* Build and lead a local network of creators and contributors who live and breathe Sydney like you do, with a tone that's brand‐aligned
* Use data to guide your strategy, learning what works, what doesn't, and where we should go next
* Develop affiliate‐friendly content that drives bookings and clicks and adds real value to our audience
* Contribute to national editorial moments and collaborate with Commercial and marketing teams on cross‐functional initiatives that drive brand and revenue growth
* Be a cultural voice and thought leader, sharing your insights and passion internally and externally to help shape Urban List's direction and relevance
Your Experience & Capabilities
* 4 - 6+ years in digital content, publishing, or journalism
* Exceptional writing, editing and storytelling skills
* Deep understanding of Sydney's culture, communities, and content landscape
* Experience growing and engaging digital audiences (SEO, email, social, affiliate)
* The ability to manage freelancers and multi‐format content calendars
* A commercial mindset — you understand how content supports brand and business outcomes
