Job Overview
The Integrated Marine Observing System is a collaborative research infrastructure supported by the Australian Government. It serves as a critical component of Australia's national research effort, enabling scientists to collect and analyze data from the ocean.
Main Responsibilities
* Work with the project lead to compile contracts, plans, reports, and budgets, providing oversight of IMOS National program of work and improving business management systems.
* Serve as an expert in IMOS operations, covering key performance indicators 1 and 2; deployment and recovery of equipment, and data delivery protocols.
* Maintain strong internal and external relationships with IMOS operators, facility/sub-facility leaders, and the broader IMOS community.
* Provide executive support and participate in committees as needed (e.g., the Forum for Operational Oceanography and National Mooring Network Steering Committee).
Required Skills and Qualifications
* Bachelor's degree in a relevant science or administrative discipline with at least 4 years of relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of experience and/or education/training.
* Demonstrated high-level project management and coordination skills with accuracy and attention to detail.
* Understanding of managing complex research project finances and advising management on significant variations and proposed actions.
* Proficiency in word processing, spreadsheets, databases, presentation software, and internet/electronic mail.
