The Role Your Duties will include: Provide managerial support for the day-to-day workforce operations of the Headquarters element, onsite at Port Wakefield SA. Assisting in the management, development and implementation of tasks as required. Support the CO and XO JPEU in the preparation and maintenance of Business documents/correspondence relating to HR and administration activities and records. Construct and maintain systems for documenting actions and produce high level administrative outcomes. Have proven management experience and mentoring of teams. Conduct APS recruitment activities for the unit. Ensure effective communication and appropriate consultation in matters relating to Defence policy and APS code of conduct. Be proactive and have the ability to handle a high-tempo environment. Perform personnel actions at all levels (e.g. recognition requests, allowances, higher duties applications, leave entitlements etc.). Have the ability to interpret directions from higher headquarters and recommend actions and/or procedures to implement. Ensure all personnel matters and files are treated with confidentiality. About our Team The main function of the Business Team Leader is to assist the JPEU Executive Officer (XO) to support the core business/ administrative requirements for the unit by providing day-to day managerial support to the unit. These tasks vary from high level policy directions to low-level requests for information and guidance. You will be required to manage a small team by providing mentoring and oversight of junior team members in order to deliver the required JPEU business outcomes. This team will ensure that unit members adhere to Defence policy and procedures. Is experienced In Defence with organisational and management experience of a team. Is driven by fast paced environments, is proactive with solid problem solving skills, who looks to provide solution based outcomes. Experience should include scheduling and conflict resolution roles. Some project management experience is desirable. Forward thinker to build new ideas and projects to support the Business unit.
