Job Description
MAIN DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
* To prepare high-quality technical analysis to inform management and business decisions for the public and private sectors.
* Preparing and supervising the production of laboratory reports and scientific papers, including statutory technical reporting.
* Conducting preliminary surveys of mineral, petroleum and natural gas deposits.
* To provide expert technical advice to clients on geological issues.
* To develop and undertake industry best practice approaches for geological assessment and related decision-making.
* Design, carry out, manage and review geophysical and geochemical sampling programs.
* Performing field investigations including drilling and aquifer pumping test supervision, sampling and monitoring.
* Assist the Chief Technical Officer with developing and maintaining company procedures.
* Responsible for data capture and data storage of all exploration information (geology, geochemistry, spatial data points etc).
* Provide oversight on key exploration areas of the Company within Australia and other parts of the world.
* To develop fit-for-purpose analytical and numerical modelling approaches.
* To ensure that the client's expectations are exceeded on a consistent basis.
* To ensure projects are delivered on time and on budget.
* To implement safe work practices and take responsibility for safety.
* To ensure that all work is carried out in full compliance.
* Provide training and assistance to team members as required.
* Assess exploration investment optionality and align geological targeting with corporate capital allocation priorities.
* Undertake mineral-economic analysis, including project valuation, scenario modelling, NPV/IRR calculations, and benchmarking against peer companies.
* Contribute technical and commercial insights for internal reviews, due diligence, JV discussions, and strategic growth initiatives.
Qualifications
* Tertiary Australian qualifications or Overseas equivalent in Geology or similar
* Current first aid training
* Valid Driver's Licence
Experience
* 3-5 years relevant professional experience
Skills
* Demonstrable evidence of high-quality written technical Geological reports and oral presentations.
* Excellent interpersonal and time management skills.
* Advanced problem-solving skills.
* Ability to interpret and report on geological data.
* Ability to characterise and conceptualise geological systems.
* Demonstrable experience in the design, construction and application of numerical modelling tools for assessments.
* Liaison with suppliers, clients, consultants to manage field investigations and/or deliver work packages in a timely and cost-effective manner.
