Period of Appointment
Appointment to the role is on a fixed-term full-time basis for 12 months.
Duties
1. Utilise the Bridge Management System to scope, develop, monitor and execute bridge maintenance, renewal or upgrade projects which align with strategic policies and guidelines.
2. Prepare briefs and specifications required for scoping, development, contract administration or investigation work.
3. Inspect, monitor and report on bridge and structure performance, including new construction projects throughout delivery until completion.
4. Supervise technical staff or consultants in the performance of duties where directed, although there are no staff reporting directly to this position.
5. Provide specialised technical advice on maintenance, renewal and construction of bridges and structures to project delivery and other staff, including training as appropriate.
6. Represent the Department on state and national committees relevant to the primary duties as required.
7. Perform other duties in other areas of State road asset management as required.
Essential Requirements
Evidence of the following must be provided prior to appointment:
1. Satisfactory completion of a relevant 4-year (minimum) university degree in engineering accredited by Engineers Australia; or equivalent qualifications recognized by Engineers Australia.
2. Current driver licence.
The person must continue to satisfy the above essential requirements/qualifications throughout their employment in this role.
Desirable Requirements
* Postgraduate qualifications in a relevant discipline.
