A prominent Federal Government agency is seeking an experienced Senior System Integration Infrastructure Engineer to join their mission‐critical digital capability team. This opportunity sits within the Australian Signals Directorate (ASD) and will play a key role in supporting secure, scalable and integrated systems essential to national security.
The successful candidate will contribute to major programs, delivering complex systems integration outcomes across Linux, Kubernetes and enterprise infrastructure environments. The contract is for an initial 18‐month period with two 12‐month extensions, working onsite in Canberra or Melbourne, with limited WFH flexibility subject to operational need. Positive Vetting (PV) clearance is essential.
Responsibilities
* Lead the design, engineering, deployment and maintenance of high‐availability, scalable and secure Linux and Kubernetes systems.
* Develop Infrastructure‐as‐Code (IaC) to deploy, secure and maintain Linux hosts and Kubernetes clusters.
* Package, deploy and manage containerised applications in Kubernetes environments.
* Engage with stakeholders to understand capability requirements and deliver integrated technical solutions.
Qualifications
* Proven experience with Linux (RHEL 7+), Kubernetes deployment, configuration management and security compliance.
* Strong capability in creating and maintaining IaC and CI/CD workflows, including Ansible playbooks.
* Demonstrated ability to identify system interdependencies and lead Agile/DevOps‐based delivery teams.
* Eligibility and possession of an active Positive Vetting (PV) clearance, and willingness to undergo ASD's OSA process.
