Software Engineer
As a Software Engineer, you will play a key role in designing, developing, testing and maintaining software applications that support the business operations of Steel Cap Commercials and its group entities. Working within a collaborative, agile environment, you will contribute across the full software development lifecycle — from requirements analysis through to deployment and ongoing support.
Responsibilities
* Design, develop, test and deploy robust software solutions based on business specifications and functional requirements
* Develop and maintain RESTful APIs and integrate with third-party services and platforms
* Write clean, well‐documented and maintainable code across front‐end and back‐end systems
* Develop and manage back‐end logic and database structures using Python and SQL
* Conduct unit tests, integration tests and regression tests to ensure software quality and reliability
* Identify, document, triage and resolve bugs and performance issues in a timely manner
* Deploy, monitor and maintain applications on Microsoft Azure cloud infrastructure
* Operate within an Agile/Scrum framework — sprint planning, stand‐ups and retrospectives
* Collaborate with cross‐functional teams to translate business requirements into clear technical specifications
Skills Required
* Bachelor's degree or higher in Software Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology or a related discipline
* 3–5 years of demonstrated experience in a software engineering or development role
* Solid back‐end development skills including Python and SQL/RDBMS
* Hands‐on experience with REST API development and third‐party integration
* Practical experience with Agile/Scrum methodologies and DevOps practices including CI/CD pipelines
* Experience with cloud platforms, preferably Microsoft Azure
* Familiarity with version control using GitHub and project management tools such as Trello
* Strong analytical and problem‐solving skills with high attention to detail
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to work independently and as part of a team
