Mount Barker District Council is seeking an experienced Graphic Designer to support the delivery of effective communications and engagement activities.
This role is responsible for providing high-quality, consistent, and accessible graphic design services that support clear communication, strengthen the Council's brand, and maintain professional standards across all visual outputs.
Key Responsibilities
· Deliver graphic design services for campaigns, publications, and digital communications
· Provide specialist design advice and guidance to internal stakeholders
· Apply and maintain brand guidelines, style standards, and communication frameworks
· Collaborate with internal teams to develop effective visual communication materials
· Ensure all design outputs meet accessibility requirements and organisational standards
· Liaise with external suppliers, including printers, media outlets, and signage providers
· Undertake basic photography and asset management where required
· Contribute to continuous improvement of design processes and outputs
Skills and Experience
· Significant experience in a graphic design role within a large and complex organisation
· Advanced proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite and related design tools
· Strong knowledge of design principles, including typography, layout, and colour theory
· Demonstrated ability to produce design work across print and digital formats
· Experience working in public-facing or politically sensitive environments
· Strong organisational and time management skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities
· Well-developed communication and collaboration skills
