About the role
As a member of the Service Desk team, the Desktop Support Analyst helps keep the Public Transport Authority (PTA) running by delivering reliable and responsive technology support. From managing user accounts and deploying software to providing hands-on desk-side assistance, you'll be the go-to escalation point for Service Desk Analysts and play a vital role in ensuring staff have the tools they need to succeed. You'll work with the latest technologies such as Intune and SCCM to maintain systems to high security standards, provide second-level support that makes a real difference to our people every day.
Beyond day-to-day support, this role offers the chance to shape improvements across the Service Desk. You'll monitor and enhance system performance, coach and mentor junior team members, and share your expertise to build capability across the branch. With opportunities to contribute to IT projects, streamline processes, and strengthen documentation, you'll be part of a collaborative team driving positive change and ensuring the PTA continues to deliver safe, efficient and reliable services to the community.
About You
To excel in this role, you should possess:
- ITIL Foundation (or relevant experience), relevant technical qualifications/certifications, and strong expertise in second-level support, installation, and administration of IT hardware and software.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to build rapport, collaborate effectively in a team, and support Service Desk Analysts.
- Strong conceptual and analytical skills with the ability to assess information and resolve complex technology issues.
- Well-developed planning and organisational skills, able to manage competing priorities and work independently with minimal supervision.

There is currently one fixed term opportunity available to 30 October 2029 with the possibility of renewal and/or permanency.
