Key Responsibilities
You will play a vital role in our 24/7 rotating roster, including day, afternoon, and night shifts. Your main responsibilities include:
1. Develop meaningful and professional relationships with children, young people and their guardians understanding their unique needs, goals, and daily living activities.
2. Meeting the child or young person's daily care needs such as personal hygiene, health and well-being, medical, transportation, recreational and educational support needs.
3. Utilising trauma informed practices and supports in day-to-day care provision for children and young people.
4. Encourage and facilitate opportunities for social engagement, recreation and community involvement.
5. Advocate for the rights of children and young people.
6. Support young people in developing essential life skills, including education, vocational training and independent living skills.
We are looking for individuals who possess the following:
* A passion for supporting people to reach their potential.
* Strong communication skills to connect and help maintain cultural ties.
* Knowledge of the impacts of abuse and neglect, coupled with the ability to provide trauma-informed support.
* Resilience in handling challenging situations and a commitment to self-care practices.
* A dedication to delivering consistent, high-quality care.
Qualifications Required
* Mandatory Requirement: Minimum Certificate IV in Child, Youth, Disability Community & Family Intervention or in a relevant field, or higher.
* Mandatory Requirement: Candidates must have completed a psychological assessment with a result indicating suitability for the role
* Therapeutic Crisis Intervention preferred.
* Must have a current NDIS Worker Screening Check, Working With Children Check (WWCC), and all required training certifications.
