Blue Stone Management is seeking an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to join our energetic team in Sydney. In this full-time role, you will play a crucial part in managing all aspects of cost estimating and quantity surveying for our construction projects. Key Job Responsibilities
* Prepare detailed cost estimates and budgets for construction projects
* Analyse and interpret technical drawings, specifications, and contract documents
* Measure and quantify construction materials and labour requirements
* Negotiate and manage subcontractor and supplier contracts
* Monitor project costs and provide regular progress updates to stakeholders
* Assist with the preparation of tender submissions and proposals
* Identify cost-saving opportunities and implement value engineering strategies
* Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and other construction professionals
Basic Qualifications
* 8+ years of experience as a Quantity Surveyor in the construction industry
* Degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related field
* Proven track record of preparing accurate cost estimates and managing construction budgets
* Excellent knowledge of construction materials, methods, and industry standards
* Strong analytical and problem‐solving skills with attention to detail
* Proficient in using CostX and MS Office applications
* Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Additional Requirements
* Physical: Ability to conduct site walks and attend in‐person meetings at client locations.
* Cognitive: Robust critical thinking, technical writing, negotiation, and multitasking abilities.
* Logistics: This is a full time, hybrid role; off‐hours work may be required to accommodate operations or agency schedules.
* Technical: Must be familiar with remote systems access and able to manage reporting in fast‐paced environments.
