Southern Boone Middle School Administrative Assistant
Southern Boone Middle School in Ashland, Missouri is seeking an energetic, student-centered, highly organized Building Level Administrative Assistant. The successful applicant must have outstanding attendance with a friendly, positive disposition and a team player. The ability to problem solve and collaborate effectively with the Principal and Assistant Principal is a must.
Is able to interact with many people including students, teachers and parents in a positive and professional manner
Has excellent verbal and written communication skills
Has proficient computer skills, especially Google products and InfiniteCampus (will provide training), along with other various basic office equipment
Can skillfully handle general clerical duties, especially answering the telephone and filing (both electronic and paper copies)
Is able to prioritize a workload and workflow in a fast-paced office environment
Can handle multiple tasks at once
Is able to keep strict confidentiality on all matters involving students, district personnel and a vast array of sensitive district and school-related information
Essential Functions:
Keeping record of student attendance and calling parents when students are absent
Keeping accurate information on our Student Information System
Working effectively with Kelly Educational Staffing Services
Enrolling new students and completing the student transfer process
Attending to minor nursing responsibilities
Processing invoices, track expenses, and producing expense reports
Education/Training Requirements:
High School Diploma, or equivalent
Specific knowledge-based competencies required to perform the functions of the job include: ability to use office software and office equipment, including Microsoft Word, Excel, Google, school-related software, copiers.
Working Conditions:
Some lifting, carrying, pushing, and or pulling. Generally the job requires 90% sitting, 5% walking, and 5% standing.
Will experience constant interruptions, inflexible deadlines, and changes to normal routines.
Terms of Employment:
11 month contract (215 days), eight hour workday. A thirty-minute lunch period is included in the eight hour workday. Summer hours will be set by the administration. We are looking for someone to start immediately.
Performance of this job will be evaluated by building Principal and Assistant Principal
