Software Development Opportunity
A long-term position for a skilled software developer has opened in a small, collaborative team. This role was created by internal expansion and offers a unique opportunity to work on established Java web applications, pure Java backend services, and Oracle PL/SQL programs.
As a key member of the team, your daily responsibilities will include ensuring assigned applications run smoothly, understanding how they fit together, delivering small enhancements, and picking up new projects over time. You will also contribute to implementing AI chat assistants and chatbots to enhance user experience and workflows.
You will join a team of five developers, working closely with the Chief Information Officer. The environment is easy going, supportive, and flexible, with a strong focus on quality and learning. This role is based in Perth, five days a week, with occasional flexibility available.
* Strong Java skills, including JSF experience of five years or more
* Practical experience building and consuming REST APIs
* Oracle PL/SQL experience of five years or more
* Proven experience working with databases in Oracle environments
* Confidence collaborating in a small team and contributing to shared codebases
* A proactive mindset and the ability to learn independently
* Exposure to AI in production, such as building a chatbot or chat assistant
* Familiarity with cloud platforms, such as Azure or OCI
* Experience with reporting tools, such as Crystal Reports or APEX Office Print
