Provide asset data system knowledge with a well-known government department within the AMIS support team.

Your new organisation
A reputable government organisation dedicated to preserving Victoria's environmental heritage is seeking an Asset Data Officer. This role oversees the coordination, validation, and improvement of road asset data within the organisation's Management Information System (AMIS). The successful candidate will refine workflows and protocols for data sharing and updates, supporting the agency's broader road management responsibilities.

This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to meaningful environmental stewardship while enhancing data integrity and operational efficiency.

Your new role
As an Asset Data Officer, you will play a key role in maintaining and improving road asset data within the organisation's Management Information System (AMIS). Your responsibilities will include:
* Manage and enhance road asset data within the Asset Management Information System (AMIS), including integration, validation, and transformation of datasets.
* Perform bulk data updates and refinements across key parks and regions to ensure data accuracy and completeness.
* Use GIS and data tools (e.g., ArcGIS, Maximo, Excel) for spatial analysis and attribute data management.
* Collaborate with internal teams (Spatial, GIS, Capital Works, Operations) and external stakeholders to support planning and maintenance decisions.
* Lead data improvement initiatives and document technical procedures to support future Road Management Agreements and system development.

What you'll need to succeed

* Preferable tertiary qualifications in GIS, Data Science, Asset Management, Engineering, or a related field.
* Experience with geospatial data, asset systems (ideally Maximo), and road/linear infrastructure datasets.
* Familiarity with VicMap Transport and local/state government data systems and schemas
* Strong data management skills, including proficiency in Excel and ArcGIS for spatial and attribute validation
* Ability to plan and execute small-scale projects or pilot initiatives, with effective tracking and reporting.

What you'll get in return
Join a dedicated team within a well-established government organisation that prioritises work-life balance and supports flexible work arrangements. This initial six-month contract offers great benefits and the potential for extension, providing stability and career growth in a meaningful and rewarding environment.
