St Johns Park Bowling Club is a leading employer in the hospitality industry in South-Western Sydney.

We are seeking a dynamic and enthusiastic individual to join our Finance division as a Payroll Officer on a Part-time 4 days a week basis.

The Role

Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer. This is a hands-on role ideal for someone who thrives in a collaborative environment and is keen to grow their skills in Payroll.

Key Responsibilities:

* Process end-to-end payroll weekly for approximately 300 employees. Ensuring accuracy, compliance and all payments are paid on time.
* Assist CFO with the preparation of payroll related documents or investigations e.g. Centrelink separation certificates, audits and surveys.
* Interpret and apply relevant Modern Award, and Enterprise Agreements with a strong focus on Registered and Licensed Clubs Award.
* Maintain accurate payroll records including leave accruals, superannuation, and taxation obligations.
* Manage employee payroll queries and provide timely, solutions-focused responses.
* Prepare and reconcile payroll-related reports, including STP, PAYG, superannuation, deductions and other employee entitlements.
* Support audits and continuous improvement of payroll processes.
* Standalone role collaborating with HR, Finance, Rosters, and Management to ensure seamless payroll compliance.
* Work with systems and ensure accurate application of incentives and allowances.
* Stay up to date with payroll legislation, taxation changes, and regulatory developments.

What we are looking for (skills and experience).

* A minimum of 3 years' experience in a Payroll specialist role or similar.
* Demonstrated experience to efficiently and accurately process the end-to-end payroll function, including processing wages (timesheet, higher duties, backpay), STP, Superannuation.
* Tertiary qualifications preferred.

* Experience with range of systems and databases. Experience with Clubline payroll system preferred.

* Basic proficiency in Microsoft excels.
* Prior experience in the preparation of a large/complex payroll service, including the interpretation and administration of employment legislation.
* Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills with high attention to detail.
* Demonstrated organisational and time management skills.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
* Ability to provide and report accurate information.
