About the Role
We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Electrical Project Manager to join our Projects team in Darwin NT. In this role, you will lead complex electrical construction projects from inception through to completion, ensuring they are delivered safely, on time, and on budget. You'll coordinate multidisciplinary teams and subcontractors, manage project scheduling and budgeting, and be the key liaison for clients and stakeholders. This is a hands-on leadership role overseeing projects in construction, civil works, solar installations, defence infrastructure, and mining sector projects – perfect for a dynamic professional ready to take the next big step in their career. Key Responsibilities
* Project Leadership: Plan, execute, and finalize electrical projects (HV/LV installations, subdivisions, street lighting, solar farms, etc.), managing all phases from planning and design through construction, commissioning, and handover.
* Scope & Schedule Management: Define project scope and deliverables; develop robust project plans and construction schedules. Oversee multiple projects, ensuring milestones are met and projects are delivered in-full, on-time and within budget.
* Financial & Contract Management: Manage project budgets, cost-to-completion forecasts, and financial reporting. Administer contracts and subcontracts, including handling variations, compliance, and documentation.
* Quality & Safety Assurance: Champion strict Work Health & Safety (WHS) practices and quality control on all sites. Ensure all work meets electrical industry standards, relevant codes, and our company's high-quality standards.
* Stakeholder Engagement: Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, contractors, and internal stakeholders. Build strong relationships through clear communication and by delivering on commitments.
* Team Development: Lead a skilled team of electricians, technicians, and subcontractors. Set the tone with a hands-on, safety-first approach. Mentor junior project staff and trades, fostering a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement.
Qualifications and Experience
* Electrical Trade Qualification (Electrical license required). Additional qualifications in Project Management or Electrical Engineering are highly regarded.
* Proven Project Management Experience in electrical construction (minimum 2 years). Experience with large commercial builds, civil infrastructure projects, and/or Defence projects is highly desirable.
* Strong Technical Knowledge: In-depth understanding of electrical drawings, specifications, and Australian electrical standards, with the ability to translate technical requirements into executable project plans.
* Leadership & Communication: Demonstrated ability to lead project teams and subcontractors effectively. Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills, with a track record of delivering projects through influence and teamwork.
* Organizational Skills: High proficiency in project scheduling, budgeting, and contract administration. Ability to manage multiple concurrent projects while maintaining attention to detail and quality.
* Technical Skills: Proficient in Microsoft Office suite; familiarity with project management software (e.g. MS Project) and industry-specific platforms (e.g. Simpro, Aconex) is an advantage.
* Licences: Current Driver's License and White Card (Construction Induction). Ability to obtain NT Police Clearance.
* Additional Requirements: Australian Citizenship and ability to meet Defence project security requirements are an advantage.
