Bloodwood Tree Association is seeking applicants for a Community Connect Worker (Patrol Officer) position. The Community Connect team patrols from 1:00pm to 7:00pm, Monday to Saturday, providing essential services to the South Hedland Community by assisting individuals who are intoxicated, injured, involved in violent situations, or otherwise at risk, by taking them to safer locations. The role aims to improve community safety and reduce harm related to alcohol and other drugs (AOD), particularly supporting Indigenous people in public places who are AOD-affected or at risk of harm.
Requirements
1. Confidence and capability to handle difficult situations
2. Assertiveness in enforcing procedures such as bag searches, alcohol confiscation, and dismissing aggressive clients
3. Female preferred (male positions are already filled)
4. Physical fitness to assist with wheelchairs, groceries, vehicle cleaning, etc.
5. CV Check
6. Working With Children Check (WWCC)
7. Computer skills for data entry
8. Good communication skills
9. Knowledge of the local community is desirable
10. Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander (ATSI) identification required
11. Driver’s license is beneficial
