About the opportunity
We are seeking an experienced optometrist to work alongside our leading, globally recognised ophthalmologist, Dr Ben LaHood. In this role, you will perform refractive assessments and postoperative reviews, collaborating to ensure optimal outcomes for each patient. This part-time position offers flexibility with the potential to increase hours, initially requiring availability on Mondays and Fridays
Key Responsibilities:
* Conduct thorough eye examinations with accurate refractions.
* Collaborate closely with ophthalmologists on patient care and treatment plans.
* Diagnose and manage anterior eye diseases.
* Explain postoperative care management to patients and perform postoperative assessments (training will be provided).
* Build rapport and provide individualised experiences for each patient.
* Use diagnostic equipment, including OCT, corneal topography, and tonometry.
* Maintain accurate patient records and adhere to optometrical standards.
* Stay updated on advancements in optometry and eye care.
Essential Qualifications:
* Bachelor or Master of Optometry (or equivalent)
* Registered with the Optometry Board of Australia (AHPRA)
* Therapeutically endorsed
* Minimum 2 years of experience as an optometrist
