Client: Our client is a global market leader of solutions in Engineering and Manufacturing, servicing the world's mining & resources sectors.
About The Role: We are currently seeking a diligent & experienced Logistics Coordinator to manage both international and domestic transportation activities and support the overall transportation process. As the Coordinator, you will be dealing with shipping companies, customs agents, warehouse staff, buyers, suppliers, and clients to ensure the timely and efficient movement of goods.
Responsibilities
* Management of inventory processes to proactively and autonomously maintain efficiency and compliance
* Maintain strong relationships with logistics and 3PL vendors
* Track shipments and communicate with stakeholders about the progress
* Ensure the workshop is consistently supplied with the materials and resources
* Ensure compliance with relevant legislation and PAU policies, procedures and standards
* Arrange 3PL storage movements and support off-site stock takes
* Secure and report savings and cost reductions achieved and secured in the logistics process
* Approve freight invoices and ensure timely resolution of invoice queries
Qualifications
* 2-3 years of experience in general freight forwarding and intermodal transport (air, sea, road, rail, imports and exports)
* Current Forklift Ticket (LF) & experience (Reach & Counterbalance)
* International logistics/freight experience (essential)
* Computer-savvy with a working knowledge of ERP system (preferably SAP)
* Ability to organise data and compile/publish data and reports in MS Suite – particularly Excel
* Understanding of INCOTERMS
* Experience with Freight Forwarding, Custom Clearance and transport-related field
* Customer service and negotiation skills to deal with overseas/local stakeholders
* Familiar with the legal requirements regarding importing and exporting shipments
* Confident with figures (ability to convert weights, volumes and currencies for imports)
* Ability to work autonomously and track multiple processes
* Demonstrated commitment to safety and improvement
* Teamwork & strong work ethics
* Own transport
* Ability to prioritise workload
* Ability to pass a Pre-Employment Medical
* Happy to participate (and pass) in random Drug & Alcohol testing
* Relevant experience/knowledge of OH&S
* Full Working rights/ Australian Resident
* Clean police clearance
