Professor/Associate Professor of Hospital Transformation and Future Health Systems
Employment Type: Full - time (35 hours a week) Duration: Continuing Remuneration: $179K - $229K base (+17% super and leave loading) Location: Kensington, Sydney
The International Centre for Future Health Systems
The International Centre for Future Health Systems ("ICFHS") is a research, policy and advocacy centre established at the University of New South Wales that seeks to improve health systems to deliver more equitable, sustainable, and person-centred health care for all people.
Operating on a partnership model, ICFHS collaborates closely with health services, government agencies, industry, primary health networks, professional bodies, community and consumer organisations, and global health partners, including colleagues at the University of Oxford.
Why this role matters
Transforming hospital care to support the adoption of innovations in health systems reform, while improving the integration of health services, equity, and the person-centred focus of care, is a core theme for the ICFHS.
This new position will play a leadership role in the development and implementation of improved models of hospital care, particularly for populations that are under-served, as well as integrating with research, policy and advocacy work across all the ICFHS themes.
The position reports to the ICFHS Director and will involve postgraduate researcher supervision.
Some Key Skills Required
Level D
Health professional qualification and eligibility for registration in Australia PhD degree or equivalent research doctoral qualification.
Nationally recognised research leader in health systems research with a strong track record as first or senior author of peer-reviewed publications and demonstrated success in securing competitive research grants.
Experience and expertise translating research into health practice and policy.
Professional experience in health services and experience developing relationships with health services, including both public and private hospitals.
Demonstrated ability to lead research teams and work collaboratively with other researchers and health service providers.
Evidence of highly developed interpersonal and collaboration skills with demonstrated ability to work and influence across disciplines, Faculties and institutions, and with industry, professional, community and consumer organisations.
Demonstrated capacity to provide leadership, management and mentoring to staff and colleagues in teaching and research.
Level E (in addition to the above)
Internationally recognised research leader in health systems with an outstanding track record as first or senior author of peer-reviewed publications and demonstrated outstanding success in securing competitive research grants.
Demonstrated capacity to lead by example in supporting equal opportunity and equity, diversity and inclusion policy and programs as they relate to staff and students.
Proven leadership in developing significant productive relationships and engagement with stakeholders, including policy makers, health services, industry, professional, community and consumer organisations, with success in attracting significant funding from government and industry.
