The role
The Human Resources Consultant provides a range of customer service, administrative and Human Resources support services to enable the provision of high-level detailed advice, guidance and support in People and Culture processes and business functions. The role contributes to the development and implementation of People & Culture initiatives and interventions in order to address people management issues, and achieve the goals of the People and Culture Strategy.
Where you'll be working
The Sutherland Hospital and Community Health Service is located in the Sutherland Shire (the Shire), approximately half an hour drive south of Sydney, in Caringbah. The Sutherland Hospital is a major metropolitan hospital and teaching hospital. The hospital motto is "Endeavour to Serve". The service offers a comprehensive range of inpatient and outpatient healthcare with 375 beds, serving the residents of the Sutherland Shire.
Selection Criteria
Sound knowledge of the legislative and regulative requirements relating to human resources management and industrial/employee relations, and the ability to provide practical advice on People & Culture matters.
Demonstrated ability to accurately identify significant People & Culture issues and clearly communicate their business implications/risks with the ability to contribute to the development of innovative and contemporary policies, strategies and initiatives.
Tertiary level qualifications in Human Resource Management, Commerce/Business, Psychology or equivalent workplace experience, or a combination of study and work experience.
Ability to work independently with limited direction as to work priorities, with demonstrated experience effectively managing workload and meeting deadlines.
Well-developed interpersonal skills and demonstrated ability to consult effectively with key stakeholders, including management, staff, industrial organisations and other external agencies.
Well-developed communication skills with proven ability to analyse and problem solve, and the ability to prepare briefs, reports and submissions.
Demonstrated analytical skills including the ability to use data and information to provide insights and comprehensive reports that contribute to effective decision-making, people management solutions and continuous improvements.
The ability and willingness to travel within the District in accordance with the demands of the position.
