**Where you'll be working**

Murrumbidgee LHD offers specialist drug and alcohol services that offers safe and non-judgmental support, advice and treatment.

Drug and alcohol clinicians are based in each of our community mental health, drug and alcohol services. They provide outpatient care, including medication, counselling and support to assist people to change their problematic drug and alcohol use and to get their lives back on track

Requirements of the role include:

- Consultative, diagnostic, outpatient, telehealth and other services as determined and required by MLHD and within scope for the role.
- Attendance and availability during rostered work hours and whilst on-call including clinical handover, clinical supervision, teaching and for emergency and routine care as determined and required by MLHD
- The provision of education and support to clinicians across multiple disciplines to achieve quality education and safe clinical practice.

**What you'll be doing**

The Addiction Medicine SS/VMO will provide addiction specialist services with a focus on outpatient medical care for people experiencing drug and alcohol harms, including Opioid Dependence Treatment under the NSW Opioid Treatment Program and other drug treatment. The care you provide as part of the drug and alcohol specialist services will be professional, contemporary and comprehensive, incorporating safe, effective, evidenced based and person-centred care.

**Selection Criteria**
- A primary medical degree registrable with AHPRA and Fellowship of the FAChAM/FAFPHM/FRANZCP and/or overseas trained specialist pathways.
- Knowledge of contemporary clinical management and modern approaches in assessment and management of drug and alcohol issues.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team and provide medical leadership for the team.
- Demonstrated commitment to teaching, continuing education, and research and quality improvement.
- Demonstrated commitment to behaviours which align to the NSW Health CORE values and MLHD Values, goals and strategies.
