About the role
Provides confidential administrative support to the Dental Department, coordinating theatre lists and outpatient clinics for consultants and registrars, liaising with patients and carers, and assisting the Head of Paediatric Dentistry. Works within a multidisciplinary team to support high‐quality services at WCHN.
Key duties of the role
* Providing an accurate, timely and professional response to telephone enquiries and over the counter presentations by patients, visitors and staff.
* Liaising with clinical staff for the management of patient elective booking, admission and pre‐admission requirements.
* Maintaining electronic schedules for medical staff to ensure that clinical, committee, administrative and teaching commitments are arranged and fulfilled.
* Actively maintaining waiting lists by ensuring timely and accurate data entry, up to date deferral entry and prompt removals following removal process.
* Providing reception duties for all visitors and patients who attend the Dental Department.
Skills and Experience
* Previous experience in an administrative role requiring the use of Microsoft Office Suite application such as but not limited to Excel, Word and Outlook.
* Previous experience in a customer service role.
* Sound communication skills, both written and verbal including appropriate telephone etiquette.
* Proven initiative and sound organisational skills to prioritise workloads and perform under pressure to meet demanding deadlines.
