Job Description:
We are currently looking for a skilled and enthusiastic Chef to take charge of our kitchen operations. In this role, you will be responsible for managing all aspects of food preparation and kitchen performance, ensuring excellence in quality, innovation, and efficiency. The successful candidate will be offered a competitive annual salary ranging from $77,000 to $85,000 AUD plus superannuation, demonstrating our dedication to rewarding talent and expertise within the hospitality industry.
Key Responsibilities:
* Organise and carry out daily food preparation in line with established recipes and quality benchmarks.
* Oversee and coordinate kitchen activities during service to maintain a seamless and productive workflow.
* Lead, guide, and train kitchen team members, including sous chefs, cooks, and assistants.
* Supervise food preparation to ensure consistency in flavour, presentation, and portion sizes.
* Create and revise menu offerings, considering seasonal ingredients and customer preferences.
* Ensure adherence to food safety and hygiene standards, maintaining a clean and organised kitchen.
* Control stock levels and manage food costs effectively to reduce waste and maximise efficiency.
* Work closely with management to enhance food quality, guest satisfaction, and overall business performance.
* Keep up to date with current culinary trends and introduce innovative ideas and techniques into the menu.
* Address customer queries and special dietary requests, ensuring a high level of satisfaction.
Requirements:
* Demonstrated experience as a Chef or in a comparable role, with at least 2 years of relevant experience and a strong culinary background.
* In-depth understanding of cooking methods, kitchen operations, and food safety practices.
* Creativity and a genuine passion for producing exceptional dishes.
* Strong leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to encourage and manage a team effectively.
* Capability to perform efficiently in a high-pressure, fast-paced environment while maintaining professionalism.
* Certificate IV in Commercial Cookery is required.
* Availability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and public holidays.
