Job Description
DAC Enterprises is seeking an experienced, dedicated, and qualified Fitter to join their dynamic team. Position Summary We are seeking a reliable, experienced and safety-focused Fitter to join our team. This hands-on role involves the inspection, servicing, maintenance, fault diagnosis, and repair of mechanical equipment and plant including heavy machinery, hydraulic systems, civil construction equipment, trucks, trailers, and associated components. The successful applicant will work under the direction of the Workshop Manager or Supervisor and will contribute to maintaining high standards of safety, quality, efficiency, and workmanship.
Key Responsibilities
* Ensure strict adherence to Occupational Health & Safety (OH&S) regulations, company policies, and statutory obligations at all times
* Service, repair and maintain a range of mechanical plant and equipment
* Undertake mechanical and hydraulic inspections, troubleshooting and repairs
* Conduct diagnostics, fault-finding and preventative maintenance in accordance with maintenance schedules
* Disassemble, repair and reassemble mechanical components including engines, gearboxes, pumps, valves and hydraulic assemblies
* Interpret technical drawings, hydraulic schematics and service manuals
* Replace worn or defective parts and ensure all components meet quality standards
* Respond to breakdowns and perform field service work as required
* Test machinery and equipment after servicing to ensure correct operation
* Record critical dimensions, wear, defects and completed work accurately, including photo documentation where required
* Complete quality control documentation and maintain accurate daily service records
* Maintain workshop tools, equipment and work areas in a clean, safe and organised condition
* Participate in toolbox meetings, Job Safety Analysis (JSA) reviews and required training programs
* Report hazards, defects, incidents or major repair requirements to the Supervisor immediately
* Ensure all work is completed on time and in accordance with client specifications and company standards
* Operate company plant and equipment safely and responsibly
* Assist with parts ordering and inventory control where required
* Perform other duties as directed by Management
Skills and Experience
* Relevant trade qualification as a Mechanical Fitter / Fitter (General)
* Demonstrated experience in mechanical and hydraulic equipment maintenance and repair
* Strong understanding of hydraulic schematics and hosing layouts
* Experience working with heavy plant, construction equipment or industrial machinery
* Ability to diagnose faults and perform mechanical overhauls
* High commitment to safety and quality workmanship
* Ability to work independently and within a team environment
* Strong time management and organisational skills
A remuneration package of between $70,000 to $90,000 per annum, plus superannuation, will be negotiated depending on skills and experience. Job type: Full-time, Permanent
