The Millmerran Power Station is located approximately 50 minutes from Toowoomba in the Surat Basin and is supported by the adjacent coal mine. Our plant operation supports around 250 local roles including employees and contractors.
About the Role
We are seeking a Project Coordinator to join our team at the Millmerran Power Station in Millmerran, QLD. Reporting to the Engineering Manager, you will play a crucial role in transforming how projects are delivered.
The Project Coordinator will drive consistent, safe, and high‐quality delivery of our major maintenance and capital project portfolio. This role will be fundamental in shifting Millmerran Operating Company from current informal project execution to a structured, well‐governed, and reliably resourced project delivery model—without increasing cost or headcount.
Working closely with the engineering team, contractor project managers and contract partners, the Project Coordinator will provide and support the coordination, governance, and facilitation needed to ensure all assigned projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to organisational standard. You will also support broader site personnel in project processes, budget integration, and contractor engagement.
This role is predominantly based on-site at the Millmerran Power Station facility; this role may allow for hybrid working.
Key Responsibilities
Deliver Assigned Projects
* Manage, design and execute projects safely and efficiently by developing clear project management methodology
* Ensure projects meet approved quality, budget, and schedule requirements.
* Support in building a collaborative and high‐performing environment with stakeholders
* Implement structured governance and centralised project management frameworks
* Establish and manage strategic relationships with contractors to support reliable project delivery
* Govern the implementation of assigned projects
Support Major Maintenance & Capital Works
* Assist site teams with project approval, plant modification, and project close‐out processes.
* Review cost estimates for proposed projects
* Maintain the PMP database to reflect accurate prioritisation of proposed projects.
* Support the Engineering Manager with management of major maintenance and capital budgets.

We are looking for an experienced and highly organised, influential Project Coordinator who can balance stakeholder engagement with project management execution. The ideal candidate will thrive in a role that blends strategic oversight, develops and maintains strong rapport and relationships with stakeholders, demonstrates process discipline and enjoys a hands‐on approach to project management facilitation.
Essential
* Qualifications in Project Management or related field will be highly advantageous, or relevant industry experience working as a Project Coordinator/Manager
* Demonstrated experience in the successful delivery of projects, ideally at large industrial or construction sites
* Ability to work under pressure with conflicting priorities
* Competent in planning, scheduling and reviewing business project cases including interpreting and analysing numerical and complex data
* Exceptional communication skills, including the ability to communicate with contractor project managers, employees and external stakeholders as well as the ability to communicate technical acumen to varied audiences
* Sound understanding of risk management and compliance in relation to project management
Desirable
* Experience with implementing change management processes in relation to project management processes or frameworks
* Demonstrated experience in problem solving to reduce budget constraints or financial/cost burden related to project delivery.
* Project coordinator/manager experience in construction, energy or resources industry will be highly advantageous
