**The role**:
As a permanent employee of NGH, you will initially be seconded to the Queensland Government's leading transport agency who plan, manage, and deliver Queensland's integrated transport environment to achieve sustainable transport solutions for road, rail, air and sea.
We are looking for an Environmental Consultant to provide environmental management expertise to meet the Department's and Government's commitments across multiple projects within the South Coast Region. The site Environmental Officer will be a key contact point for advice regarding the requirements of Environmental management for infrastructure projects.
**Description**:
Meet and deliver advice on the agency's statutory obligations of all relevant environmental and or heritage legislation as a minimum standard.
A proactive approach to environmental and or heritage management.
Employ environmental and / or heritage management processes, standards and responsibilities as per the agencies Environmental Management System.
Liaise, consult and build effective relationships with a diverse range of stakeholders including the regions, state-wide groups and other government agencies.
Deliver guidance on environmental and or heritage issues to meet departmental and stakeholder expectations and objectives.
Provide planning, design and construction advice and services for environmental and heritage issues on the agency's NDP projects.
Desktop and field data collection, collation and analysis.
Scope and prepare environmental and/ or heritage reports and provision of advice concerning environmental and or heritage reports for NDP projects.
Project manage the acquisition of environmental permits for NDP projects.
Project manage the acquisition of environmental and or heritage support services related to NDP projects.
Plan, conduct and close out field audits as per Environmental Management Plans
**Skills and Experiences**:
This is an excellent career opportunity for an Environmental Scientist, Environmental Engineer or Environmental Management qualified professional looking for the next step in their career. Ideally, you will have:
- Tertiary qualifications in Environmental Science/Engineering or related Environmental Management field.
- Onsite construction/ infrastructure projects experience.
- Technical knowledge and experience in delivery of multi-disciplined environmental management
- Is technically competent, with a desire to continually learn and grow experience.
Experienced in the review and preparation and/or implementation of Environmental Management Plans
