Morgan McKinley is representing a global insurance firm that is seeking a Senior Compliance Manager for a pivotal Line 1 role on a 6-month contract, offering hybrid and flexible working in the Sydney office.
In this position, you will be a key driver in implementing and monitoring the risk and compliance management framework, while acting as a trusted advisor to senior leadership. This is an excellent opportunity for a strategic thinker to influence risk culture and lead the delivery of business solutions for incoming regulatory changes.
Responsibilities:
Act as a trusted advisor to Risk Owners and Divisional Management, providing expert guidance on compliance matters and developing processes aligned with the risk appetite.Lead the execution and monitoring of compliance plans and the regulatory change agenda to strengthen the firm's governance framework.Proactively develop and lead business solutions for incoming regulatory shifts and guide management in creating effective action plans for breaches.Establish and maintain strong relationships with internal stakeholders to increase awareness of obligations and foster a proactive, risk-aware culture.Lead and coach team members to develop capability, building a high-performing and inclusive team environment through robust talent development.
Requirements:
Significant leadership experience in risk management, compliance, or internal audit within a complex, matrixed financial services understanding of the laws, legislation, and prudential standards affecting the general insurance industry.Demonstrated ability to assess risk levels and design effective management controls to mitigate inherent or emerging operational risks.Strong critical thinking skills with the ability to interpret complex data to identify trends and inform pragmatic commercial solutions.Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with a proven ability to partner with senior stakeholders and influence risk behaviours.
