The Opportunity
As a Risk Advisory Manager, you'***ve***ll partner with business units to provide valued risk and compliance advice, safeguarding UniSuper through effective controls assurance and oversight. You'***ve***ll work closely with Line 1 partners to shape, influence, and challenge the way our business teams think about risk and compliance, supporting the implementation of our risk and compliance frameworks.
Key responsibilities:
- Provide oversight, challenge, and subject matter expertise over a range of Line 1 risk and assurance activities (risk management, control assurance, incident management, and emerging risks).
- Build strong, meaningful relationships and actively participate in key forums to elevate the quality of risk discussions.
- Oversee and challenge major projects and BAU changes to ensure risk is appropriately considered, assessed, and reported.
- Deliver independent insight into business risks, elevating risk insights through executive and board-level reporting.
- Act as a key liaison for training, education, and support, ensuring consistent engagement between business and specialist teams.
About You
- Extensive professional experience in compliance, operational risk, and audit roles, ideally within financial services or other highly regulated environments.
- Knowledge of the legislative and regulatory framework governing superannuation, funds management, advice, or financial services.
- Experience partnering with business teams to embed risk and compliance, balancing commercial and strategic objectives with risk management.
- Strong stakeholder engagement and business partnering experience, with confidence influencing at all levels.
- The ability to have courageous conversations on risk management, challenge assumptions, and guide the business toward informed, risk-aware decisions.
- Relevant qualifications in risk, compliance, or audit are preferred.
