About The Role
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Social Worker to join our Inclusion and Support team at Gainsborough State School. This school‑based role involves providing expert social work services to support the wellbeing and mental health of students and their families, working closely with the school community to foster a positive and inclusive environment.
Key Responsibilities Include
* Providing individual and group counselling to students, parents, and families to address personal and relationship concerns.
* Conducting professional social welfare assessments, interventions, and follow‑up support as required.
* Facilitating referrals and coordinating services with community agencies to support students and families.
* Developing and implementing strategies to engage parents, carers, and the community in school activities and programs.
* Supporting the school community in responding to critical incidents and emergencies as part of the school response team.
About You
* Experience in providing counselling and support to children, families, and communities.
* Strong interpersonal and communication skills to build effective relationships with diverse stakeholders.
* Ability to develop and implement strategies to support student wellbeing and mental health.
* Experience in working within a multidisciplinary team in an educational or community setting.
* Knowledge of referral processes and collaboration with external support agencies.
