About the Team
The Centre for Social Justice and Inclusion is the coordinating vehicle for the implementation of the Social Impact Framework across the university, and for driving the university's social justice agenda more broadly. We maximise the capacity of UTS to deliver public benefit through:

About the Role
The Student Equity Project Officer is accountable for the ongoing development, implementation and review of student equity programs for prospective and/or current students. The Student Equity Project Officer works with schools, community groups and UTS faculties and units to implement the UTS Widening Participation Strategy (WPS), which aims to increase the number of students from low socioeconomic backgrounds having access to and enrolling in higher education.
Our programs are designed to support academic preparedness and access to university for target equity groups under-represented in higher education through the provision of activities and opportunities that increase understanding of careers, courses, support services, entry schemes and pathways, and the latest teaching and learning happening at UTS.
The incumbent provides high-level support to the Student Equity Team Manager and works with the Student Equity team members in the implementation of the UTS Widening Participation Strategy (WPS). The position also contributes to activities across the Centre for Social Justice and Inclusion.
If successful in applying for this role, you will be responsible for:
* Managing and delivering widening Participation projects and events, including schools outreach programs, using project management skills such as planning, budgeting, staffing, and evaluation.
* Coordinating on-campus and in-school programs, especially aspects of the U@Uni Academy, while maintaining effective systems to support program implementation.
* Building and maintaining strong relationships with schools, community groups, the Department of Education, and UTS stakeholders to develop relevant outreach programs and resources.
* Collecting and analysing data to report on program outcomes, supporting research in student equity, and ensuring delivery of evidence-based, stakeholder-informed programs.
* Recruiting, training, and supervising staff for outreach initiatives and supporting communication strategies, including social media, to engage target students.
Key Selection Criteria

* High organisational and interpersonal communication skills
* Ability to connect and communicate with a wide range of stakeholders (students, parents, teachers, school staff, university staff) with a diverse range of backgrounds
* Strong ability to work independently.
* Ability and willingness to travel across west/southwest Sydney as part of stakeholder management and program delivery.
* Experience with community-based programs.
Salary and Benefits
Base Salary Range: $97,332 - $105,385 pa (HEW 6)
This role attracts 17% superannuation (pension) in addition to the base salary.

This position is full-time and appointment will be made on a fixed term basis for 6 months.
