JS Careers is assisting a leading law firm who are seeking high-calibre Banking & Finance Solicitors and Associates to join the firm's growing top-tier Sydney or Melbourne practice.
This firm is recognised for advising on complex, high-value and often market-defining transactions. The Banking & Finance practice is consistently ranked Band 1 and acts for a diverse client base across Australia and internationally, including major banks, alternative lenders, private credit funds, corporates, government bodies and institutional investors
The Role
This opportunity arises at a time of sustained growth and strong deal flow across infrastructure, property, acquisition finance and emerging financing structures. The successful candidate will be joining a collaborative and high-performing team advising on sophisticated domestic and cross-border finance transactions. The practice covers a broad range of matters, including:
* Real estate and development finance
* Acquisition and leveraged finance
* Corporate and general bank lending
* Private credit and alternative capital structures
* Impact and sustainability-linked financing
This role offers meaningful responsibility, career development opportunities and exposure to complex, strategically significant deals across key growth sectors.
Key Responsibilities
* Drafting, reviewing and negotiating a broad suite of finance documents
* Conducting due diligence and identifying key risk issues
* Supporting deal execution, financial close and completion mechanics
* Contributing to business development initiatives, client presentations and industry thought leadership
About you
* At least 2 years' post-qualification experience in banking and finance from a top-tier or reputable international private practice firm in Australia
* Strong technical capability and attention to detail
* Excellent academic credentials
* Commercial judgement and a pragmatic, solutions-focused mindset
* The ability to manage competing deadlines in a fast-paced environment
* Strong interpersonal skills and a collaborative approach
