The Role
We're seeking an experienced and hands-on National Sales Manager to lead our Hire division sales function.
This is a high-impact leadership role responsible for driving national sales strategy, leading a geographically dispersed team, and delivering strong commercial outcomes across revenue, margin and asset utilisation.
You'll operate as a true player-coach — leading from the front while staying close to major deals, pipeline activity and customer relationships.
Key Responsibilities
Sales Leadership & Strategy
* Develop and execute national sales strategies aligned with business goals
* Lead, mentor and manage a national team of BDMs
* Drive accountability, activity and performance across all regions
* Establish strong sales cadence including 1:1s, team reviews and performance tracking
Commercial Performance
* Own revenue growth, sales targets and profit margins
* Monitor budgets, forecasts and overall sales performance
* Drive asset utilisation across the Hire business
* Analyse data and reporting to identify trends and implement improvement plans
Business Development & Growth
* Identify and drive new business opportunities across key sectors including civil, infrastructure, councils, traffic management, events, retail and construction
* Support organic growth within existing accounts and national clients
* Stay close to major opportunities, quotes and key client engagements
* Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders across these industries
Cross-Functional Collaboration
* Work closely with operations, logistics and internal stakeholders to deliver outcomes
* Support pricing, quoting and solution development for complex and large-scale projects
* Ensure alignment between sales activity and operational capability
About You
* Proven experience in a sales leadership role, ideally across a national or multi-region remit
* Strong commercial acumen with the ability to interpret data and drive decisions
* Experience managing geographically dispersed teams
* Hands-on leadership style with a willingness to stay close to deals and customers
* Strong communication, negotiation and stakeholder management skills
* Ability to operate in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
* Experience in hire, safety, infrastructure or related industries (deadline driven and fast paced) is highly regarded
* Full-time permanent position based out of Hurstville (2220)
