About the role Just Automotive Recruitment is searching for a Light Vehicle Mechanic to join a modern, growing workshop with new equipment and strong opportunities for career progression. The successful candidate will join a recently established workshop featuring four bays including mechanical, tyre, and wheel alignment services. Duties Carry out general servicing, repairs, and maintenance on a wide range of vehicles. Diagnose and repair mechanical faults across systems such as brakes, suspension, and driveline. Perform safety inspections on all vehicles, including checks of tyres, brakes, suspension, and wipers. Complete digital vehicle inspection reports and record short videos explaining faults and recommendations to customers. Work across both mechanical and tyre-related tasks as required by daily workflow. Maintain a clean, safe, and organised work environment. Support workshop operations including parts ordering, workflow management, and stock control as skills develop. Assist in mentoring apprentices and contributing to a positive team culture. Skills and experience Minimum Certificate III in Light Vehicle Mechanical Technology. Solid practical experience servicing and repairing a variety of vehicle makes and models. Strong knowledge of general mechanical work including servicing, brakes, and suspension. Basic diagnostic ability and confidence identifying mechanical faults. Good communication skills and ability to clearly explain issues to customers via digital inspection videos. Ability to work both independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced workshop. Rego inspection licence preferred (or willingness to obtain with company support). Positive attitude, reliability, and interest in developing into a future leadership role Benefits $36 – $50 per hour depending on experience Monday to Friday 8:00am – 5:00pm with a 1-hour lunch break Saturday roster 1 on / 1 off (8:00am – 12:00pm) paid as overtime Supportive, team-focused workplace with staff development, Friday lunches, and a positive workshop culture.
