Strategically located in Hemmant near the Port of Brisbane, the JBS Cold Store facility receives a high volume of truck and container loads of product from all the JBS sites around Australia, which are then re-loaded for our domestic and international customer orders and readied for transport. Our Hemmant facility employs approximately 140 team members, operating 5 days per week.
About the Role
The JBS Hemmant Cold Stores is currently seeking an experienced WHS & Training Officer to join the team in a full-time capacity. Reporting to the Operations Manager, this role presents an excellent opportunity for an Occupational Health & Safety professional looking to further develop their expertise while working with a global leader in the manufacturing industry
Your key responsibilities will include:
* Implementing Work Health, Safety and Environment Management Systems and assisting with related compliance
* Facilitating amendments and providing guidance to OH&S implementation processes at site level
* Completing reporting on WHS performance and providing WHS advice to the Site Managers, with consideration to due diligence obligations
* Identifying WHS and specific task training requirements as well as completing all compliance tasks including record keeping requirements
* Facilitating workplace inspections and internal audits, whilst monitoring compliance to the incident reporting and investigation process
* Contributing to and adopting ideas and that improve the efficiency, effectiveness and productivity of the overall WHS function
* Managing all site training requirements including induction, task specific and compliance training whilst meeting all record keeping requirements
About You
* Cert IV or Diploma in Occupational Health and Safety
* Confident to provide advice, coach and mentor on OH&S and training requirements
* Experience in a similar role within a food manufacturing or cold store environment advantageous
* Extensive knowledge of Workplace Health & Safety Management Systems and relevant WHS Acts and Regulations, Compliance Codes and Codes of Practices, Australian Standards and Guidance Materials
* High computer proficiency in MS Office suite of products including report writing ability
