Procurement Manager (Food Manufacturing)
Location- Camberwell and Braeside, Melbourne (onsite)
Hours of Work – Full-time, Monday-Friday (this is currently not a hybrid role)
Position Purpose
For almost 30 years, Laurent—a French-inspired artisan bakery—has brought a touch of Paris to the heart of Melbourne.
We have grown to 17 wholly owned cafés and operate two state-of-the-art production facilities in Braeside, supplying premium products across Australia, Southeast Asia, and New Zealand. To maintain our exceptional product standards, we are seeking an experienced Procurement professional to support the sourcing needs of our growing group
You will hold overall accountability for all company purchasing activities—local, interstate, and international—including the negotiation and management of supplier agreements and contracts for goods and services. You will also play a critical role in ensuring our production facilities and retail stores are consistently supplied with the right materials, at the right time, and at the right cost.

Reporting to the CFO, your key responsibilities will include:
Key Responsibilities:
Procurement
Negotiates all new & ongoing supplier Contracts.
Review groups purchasing policies and procedures and update if required.
Identify and engage with high-performing suppliers while establishing strategic partnerships that drive business growth and operational efficiency.
Ensure Supplier compliance to company policies (Insurance, Modern Slavery, Food Certification, etc)
Manage and prepare Laurent’s ESG reporting requirements, i.e. Annual Sustainability and Modern slavery reporting.
Managing end to end imported goods (raw materials and consumables) and long lead time items (approximately 100 SKUs, portfolio of $10 million); including raising orders, liaising with freight forwarders, validating, approving and entering invoices and calculating landed costs.
Maintain adequate stock levels according to production forecast/ usage.
Continuous review of pricing, quality and suppliers locally and internationally, to create a sustainable supply chain.
Sourcing & setting up new Business Partners (Suppliers) and Items in the ERP system.
Management of master data to ensure accurate records.
Evaluate and negotiate goods and service contracts with suppliers.
Identify areas for cost savings and implement cost savings strategies.
Regular reporting as required, including areas of price changes, stock levels and any other events
Ensuring compliance with procurement policies and procedures.
Leadership
Provide direction to the team of two.
Develop / mentor the team.
Relationship management across the business.
Maintaining and educating business about current and new procurement processes.
Required Skills and Experience:
Minimum of 5 years’ experience in procurement, with a strong track record in managing key responsibilities within the function.
Food industry experience is mandatory.
Experience in forecasting, price negotiations, procuring and sourcing goods, preferably in FMCG and/or Manufacturing, ideally within fast paced environment.
Experience interacting with International Suppliers and Freight Forwarders is highly regarded.
Proven ability to manage working relationships across internal and external stakeholders.
Prior experience in an ERP system environment will be considered an advantage.
Strong administration and excel skills.
Qualifications:
A degree in Business, Management, or a related discipline is essential
