A permanent full-time opportunity has become available with Blue Dog Training, an award-winning Australian owned training provider in Construction and Engineering.
This is a fantastic opportunity for either an experienced VETiS Trainer (with Cert IV in Training and Assessment) OR an experienced tradesperson (engineering / mechanical / construction) looking to move off the tools.
As a Vocational Trainer, you will travel to schools in and around the Brisbane area to deliver valuable learning experiences to secondary school students studying entry-level Certificate I and II trade-based qualifications.
You will join an established team of very successful trainers that share a passion for passing on their skills to the next generation and enjoy ongoing training, mentoring and support, along with regular events and workshops.
Duties include:
-Organising and delivering training and assessments to secondary school students, together with associated administration and compliance functions.
-Inducting students and school representatives as part of the enrolment process (explaining processes and demonstrating website and online learning tools).
-Liaising with secondary school teachers, principals, students, government bodies and industry associations to discuss training methods and progress.
-Responding to questions, providing coaching/support and resolving issues.
-Working as part of a team to continuously moderate, develop, review and enhance training resources and work processes.
-Associated training, assessment and administration tasks as required.
This role requires a patient and engaging communicator that is keen to support students to learn and achieve their best. To be considered, you should demonstrate:
-Eligibility to obtain a Working with Children Suitability Card (Blue Card P).
-Experience or qualification in construction or metal-based trades.
-Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (or interest in completing this qualification).
-High level communication, interpersonal and negotiation skills, both verbal and written.
-Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to proactively identify and successfully resolve issues for stakeholders.
-Confidence learning and using computers.
-Willingness to travel to regional schools when necessary to deliver training and assessment services, as well as attend trade shows and other events within the region.
-Willingness to maintain industry and TAE currency and participate in professional development.
